Man in court for Canterbury burglary
A Canterbury man was due to appear before city magistrates today (Thursday 6 March 2008) charged with breaking into a house in Gordon Road, Canterbury, at the weekend (between 29 February 2008 and 2 March 2008) and stealing a laptop computer. Ben Arscott (19), unemployed, of Redwood Close, Canterbury, was arrested yesterday morning (5 March 2008).
Herne Bay collision
Police were called to Fleetwood Avenue, Herne Bay, at 7pm last night (5 March 2008) to a report of a collision between two cars. A man driving one of the cars was slightly injured and the ambulance service was called.
Tax Refund email scam
Kent Trading Standards are warning users of E-Mail to be very wary of an E-Mail purporting to be from the Inland Revenue offering a Tax Refund. The amount offered is about £70.
Please be wary of such E-Mails. Do not click on links and do not give away personal data. If you are suspicious of any E-Mail report it to the business that the email purports to originate from, in this case, phishing@hmrc.gsi.gov.uk, and your internet service provider.

Please be wary of other styles of phishing email particularly if it claims to be from a Bank, Building Society, Paypal or Ebay.
