Police concerned for missing Polish woman
Police are concerned about a Polish woman missing in the Canterbury area.
Justyna Niepokulczycka, 29, travelled from her home country to stay with a friend in Whitstable, arriving there on Sunday, 30 March.
She was reported missing by her friend after they had a night out in Canterbury on Monday 31 March. The pair went to the Thomas Ingoldsby pub in Burgate and Miss Niepokulczycka refused to leave at 11.20pm. Her friend left her talking to two men who she said would take her back to Whitstable. But her friend has not seen or heard from her since.
The two men are both described as having had a lot to drink. One was tall, white, approximately 30, with short dark hair and an unshaven face. He was wearing black trousers, T-shirt and dark coat. It is said the man looked as if he had been sleeping rough.
The other man was white, around 5ft 8ins with black hair. He had a muscular build and was wearing a black T-shirt and black trousers.
Inquiries by police have revealed that she has since visited a shop called the Polish Deli in Canterbury on Thursday 3 April and is also reported to have been seen in the Thomas Ingoldsby pub again on Monday this week.
Of the two photos, the one with the glasses bears the best resemblance, although Miss Niepokulczycka now has brown and red hair.
She was last seen wearing a blue T-shirt with a white logo, blue jeans, a short green jacket with a zip and cream or beige slip-on shoes.
Miss Niepokulczycka likes to socialise, but she speaks very little English.
Anyone with any information is asked to call Canterbury Police Station on 01227 762055 quoting reference 02-1000 or Kent Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
Is your bike at Herne Bay Police Station?
Anyone who has had a bicycle stolen in the district is invited to Herne Bay Police Station over the weekend to see if theirs is one of those that officers have recovered.
There are now more than 30 at the station and if you can provide a description and prove you are the owner, officers might be able to reunite you.
People are invited along between 10am and 11am on both Saturday and Sunday.
Officers are also in the process of handing out locks, chains and crime prevention advice to help stop the bikes disappearing again.
