Four injured in Herne Bay crash
An appeal for witnesses has been issued by police after four people were injured when a car collided with a concrete block off Thornden Wood Road near Herne Bay.
The 38-year-old man driving the car and a 16-year-old girl who was a rear seat passenger are still in the QEQM Hospital at Margate following the crash at 3pm on Saturday (15 March 2008). Their condition is described as stable. Two other passengers, a 12-year-old boy and eight-year-old girl, were treated for minor injuries and discharged after treatment.
The grey VW Passat car they were in crashed into the block at the entrance to an electricity sub station opposite the junction of Thornden Wood Road and Mole Hill Road as it was being driven from Canterbury to Herne Bay.
Police are investigating what happened but are particularly appealing for the driver of a black or navy blue Volkswagen Golf car to come forward. It is understood that just prior to the crash this car may have been turning round at the junction before heading back in the Herne Bay direction.
