Burglary at B&Q Chestfield
Police are calling for the public's help to catch those responsible for a burglary at B&Q in Chestfied, Whitstable over night.
The thieves escaped with more than £34,000 in bank notes, loose change and cheques after getting into the store and using the tools around them to break into the safe.
The offenders cut a hole in the fence surrounding the site and it is believed the alarm system had been disabled to allow them access without alerting the security company or the police.
Anyone who saw any vehicles or people near B&Q between when the store closed yesterday (Sunday) at 4pm until 6am this morning is being asked to contact PC Keith Rochford on 07969 583945 or Canterbury Police Station on 01227 762055, quoting reference 31-0162.
The store is closed today (Monday) to allow officers to gather forensic evidence.
